Like any machine, your body requires fuel. So what does this mean for your workout routine? Well it means that you should really review your goals and examine just how much of your body is getting involved in what you do. For instance, if your routine is meant to burn fat and build muscle but you’re not focusing on major muscle groups then your results aren’t going to be as good when it comes to burning fat. Alternatively if you want to work your muscles group by group, you should still involve your muscles in as big a group as you can to ensure that you’re burning the high octane fuel. The hotter the burn, and the more energy you need, the faster you’re going to see your fat reserves vanishing.
As a caution though, it is important that you have enough fuel for your workout in question. When you start working out perhaps you have some fat rolls you’re trying to burn so you go for a high energy routine that engages all your major big muscle groups. As the fat vanishes you need to increase your fuel intake. Since you no longer have fat to fall back on, you have to be certain that the calories you’re taking in are enough to power your body. Otherwise you’ll start breaking down muscle, and no one wants to do that.
